Went running today! Got home really late as a result, but I think I will try to run at the UCLA track at least once a week now.

Errands all weekend! It was busy. We had dinner with friends in Hermosa beach on Saturday, and I worked at the lab a bit. Sunday was Pilates class, more errands. We also visited Yogurtland - dangerous!!!

Saturday:
Points: Used them all, baby. Stella Artois and french fries.
Activity: None - no excuses
Wore: The outfit to the left. Brown ruffle dress, knitted tie cardigan, brown boots.

Sunday:
Points: Remembered to journal!! Used a lot of points thanks to lunch out and Yogurtland - 41 total (29 daily and 12 bonus)
Activity: 60 min Pilates reformer class

Apparently getting to my 8 am meeting means never remembering to take a quick outfit picture! Oh well, I did lose another pound. Headed in the right direction. Talked about using our weekly bonus points this time, and I have been taking advantage of them!

I woke up starving this morning, and that should've been my clue. I had 2 cups of Kashi GoLean Crunch cereal with a cup of 1% milk and a banana. I figured I wouldn't get hungry at lunch at all. Well, I was starving, and since I hadn't been to the grocery store I hadn't packed my lunch, and I gave in to Panda Express. When I calculated my points after, for my one panda bowl I used up 34 points. That's more points than I get for an entire day. No wonder I have been gaining weight! I often eat twice as much as I should! That pretty much ended my food for the day, and I had a salad for dinner for 0 points, and worked out for 20 min (high intensity aerobics).

Food: Ate 55 points

Today was my weightwatchers meeting. It's the first one I've attended since before Christmas Eve. I attend the 8 am meeting. I was up a bit, but not bad considering how much I ate and how little I've exercised over the holidays. One of the things we discussed today was the importance of tracking. My leader has been on maintenance for 18 years, and she stressed that one of the most important tools she has used to not gain weight is tracking. She tracks everything she eats 6 days a week, but not her weigh-in day. This has been lacking for me, and I think it shows. So my goal this week is to track everyday and follow my pointsplus plan. Another important thing for me is to pack my lunch and not give myself the opportunity to eat out of machines or make bad choices.

First lab meeting of the new year. Lab meetings are my nemesis as far as eating healthfully. Everyone brings in delicious, sweet nibbles that are impossible to sit in front of without scarfing them down. To top it off, I have weigh in on Saturday morning. Worst possible timing. Today I didn't do as badly as I would've predicted. Didn't track, didn't work out. I had an appointment to get my hair cut and colored - it looks so much better now, and feels much better as well. I was there until 8 pm, so didn't get home till close to 9 pm. Jay ordered Chinese for dinner. Egg drop soup, spicy tofu, and steamed veggies, no rice. A small square of dark chocolate for dessert. All together, I could've done much worse!

A pretty good day, though I didn't journal my points. I ate quite well, the only glitches were a muffin for breakfast (why didn't I go to Jamba Juice??) and 3 of Gil's mini cookies. Did manage to squeeze in a little yoga - the P90X videos kick my tail, and 20 minutes was all I could handle. I ate a muffin and nonfat latte for breakfast, and a huge salad for lunch with lots of fruit. Very colorful. Had an apple for an afternoon snack, and three of Gil's mini cookies. It's really hard at lab to walk past that table several times a day and not take something! For dinner Jay and I had a vegan rice salad I got from Oh She Glows, and then 2 small squares of dark chocolate.

I didn't bother blogging yesterday, I was home sick all day with a sinus infection. Wore my pajamas, ate, and slept. Today was back on the wagon! I still have some congestion, but feel much better. I didn't track my points, but I didn't eat anything especially terrible today either. I almost gave in to the temptation of Panda Express for lunch, but talked myself into some couscous and a baked potato instead. No soda today, all water.

About 5 years ago, I lost 30 pounds. I felt fantastic afterwards, and I vowed never to gain the weight back. But then I stopped living a healthy, active lifestyle as stress and over-commitments began to pile up. Slowly but surely I have gained back about 20 pounds. I originally lost the weight via Weight Watchers. I have re-joined WW, and I am chronicling my return to a healthy, active lifestyle on this blog, as a way to measure my progress and hold myself accountable - to myself.

My daily points target right now is 29. Normally my WW week starts on Sunday, but I didn't journal yesterday. I did attend my 60 min pilates reformer class, so that was a bonus!

Wore: black leggings, cream silk blouse, red sweater dress, rain boots.
